Join Dr. Beasley’s in Chicago for a hands-on paintwork correction class focused on the essential skills professional detailers use to prepare, correct and protect automotive paint.
This class covers the complete paint correction process, from decontamination and polishing prep to wet sanding, rotary machine technique, ceramic coating application and final paint correction procedures.
Students will meet their instructor(s), introduce themselves to the class and review the goals for the day.
Instructor(s) will review standard operating procedures that professional detailers use when inspecting, preparing and correcting vehicle paint.
Instructor(s) will guide students through the tools, machines, pads and chemicals used during the class, including their functions, proper use cases and best practices.
Instructor(s) will review basic safety precautions and provide necessary PPE, or personal protective equipment, for use during class.
Instructor(s) will guide students through the decontamination process used to remove bonded contaminants before polishing, wet sanding and ceramic coating application.
Students will learn how to inspect paint, prepare the surface, select the proper pad and chemical combination and set up for effective machine polishing.
Instructor(s) will demonstrate wet sanding techniques used to level paint defects and prepare the surface for further correction.
Students will learn proper rotary machine technique, including machine control, pad movement and best practices for safe defect removal.
Instructor(s) will guide students through hands-on paint correction processes to remove defects and restore clarity, gloss and depth.
Students will learn how to prepare corrected paint for ceramic coating application and how to properly apply and level a ceramic coating.

Jose-Luis is lead detailer for Dr. Beasley’s detailing studio, Simon’s. Another paintwork correction expert, Jose-Luis is a fluent Spanish speaker and a phenomenal teacher.
We want you to be happy with every product. Unopened products in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days with your receipt or order confirmation for a refund or exchange.
Because of the nature of our products, opened chemicals, soaps, and coatings are final sale. Towels, brushes, pads, and accessories must be unused and in resalable condition. Class enrollments and store credit are non-refundable but can be transferred to a future class. Received something damaged? Contact us within 7 days and we will make it right.
