FAQ
A finishing pad is designed for the final stage of paint correction. It refines the surface after compounding or cutting, removes light haze or micro-marring, and maximizes gloss and paint clarity.
Unlike cutting pads, a soft foam finishing pad focuses on enhancing shine rather than removing deep defects, making it essential for achieving a swirl-free, mirror-like finish.
Use a soft finishing pad after correction with a heavier cutting pad to restore depth and gloss. It is ideal for delicate clear coats, final polish application, and surface refinement before applying wax, sealant, or ceramic coating.
For best results, pair it with a finishing polish on a Dual Action (DA) or rotary polisher.
Not deep ones. A finishing pad has minimal abrasion and is intended for refining rather than heavy defect removal.
For scratches or oxidation, start with a more aggressive pad such as a cutting or heavy cut pad, then refine the surface with the Basic Pad Finish for maximum gloss.
Achieve a Flawless, Mirror-Like Shine with Ease
The Basic Pad Finish is a soft foam finishing pad designed for the final stage of paint correction. It refines the surface after correction with the Basic Pad Cut or more aggressive pads, removes light haze and micro-marring, and enhances gloss to deliver a swirl-free, mirror-like finish.
Unlike cutting or medium pads, this finishing pad is engineered for minimal abrasion. Its low-cut closed-cell foam structure focuses on surface refinement rather than defect removal, making it ideal for final polishing stages and gloss enhancement.
Crafted from premium foam, the pad maintains consistent structure and polishing performance throughout extended machine use. It is perfectly suited for use with finishing polishes on dual action (DA) and rotary polishers.
The side slant design improves accessibility around curves and tight body lines, while the central cooling hole enhances alignment and heat dissipation during polishing. A high-grammage Velcro backing ensures secure machine attachment and stable performance.
Available in:
- 125 mm / 140 mm (5 in / 5.5 in) × 20 mm – Ideal for larger panels
- 80 mm / 90 mm (3 in / 3.5 in) × 20 mm – Perfect for precision detailing
What Is a Finishing Pad Used For?
A finishing pad is used to:
- Refine the surface after heavier correction
- Remove polishing haze
- Maximize gloss and paint clarity
- Prepare the surface before wax or coating application
For users who prefer a simplified approach, the Basic Pad One Step combines correction and finishing in a single stage.
To maximize the final finish, the Basic Pad Finish can be paired with products such as GLOSS DETAILER, which enhances gloss, clarity and surface slickness while helping remove light polishing residue after the final polishing stage.
For additional protection and a hydrophobic finish, SiO₂ Detailer can be applied after polishing. This silica-based quick detailer boosts gloss and creates a protective layer that repels water and light contaminants, helping preserve the freshly polished look.
Why Choose the Basic Pad Finish?
The Basic Pad Finish delivers controlled refinement and enhanced gloss without unnecessary cut. Its soft foam construction ensures safe polishing on delicate clear coats, making it an essential tool for professional detailing and final-stage paint enhancement.
