The patented design traps debris underneath the screen harnessing the motion of your hand. The Detail Guardz Dirt Lock bucket filter has a complex Venturi filtering system that manipulates the flow of water in a downward direction. This allows dirt particles to collect underneath the screen without a way for it to re-enter into the clean water. 

Every time you pump your hand in the bucket you are forcing dirt below the screen and recycling clean water above to debris from being reintroduced to your wash mitt or sponge.
